Random Wednesday

Sometimes, when utility companies give you rebates for credits
or over-payments, they are now using debit cards that you can use.

Do you know that the last time we got a rebate from TXU Energy,
it was for a lousy 46 cents?

They do that because they know you are most likely not
going to be using that card. But even so, don't you think
it must cost them more than that to do the paperwork on
the account, MAKE the card, and mail it you??? Why not just
credit the account?

This is a thing that makes me go "hmmm..."

***************************************
Good lines from oldie music over the years. Some are probably real easy,
others you won't even know if you are under 40 years old:

Hey hey ma, said the way you move
Gon make you sweat, gon make you groove

Well, I take whatever I want
And baby, I want love

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

I met a gin-soaked bar-room queen in Memphis

I'm the friendly stranger in the black sedan
Won't you step inside my car?

Peace be with you.

  2. Ummm I guess I am in the "oldie" group...I know them all. True funny story...when my husband and his law partner were driving one day with the radio on and Led came on with "Hey Hey Mama....they started to sing along with the lyrics. When it got to the part with "a big-legged woman ain't got no soul" Tim's partner Art started singing "piggy little women ain't got no soul." Tim just thought that was the funniest thing. To this day we make fun of Art for mistaking the lyrics. However, in some way I kind of like his lyrics better. Maybe we should tell Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.

  3. I always thought Honky Tonk Woman was one of the best The Stones did, and as far as the rest I remember them all too, I guess we are in the same group as Susie :)

  5. LOL - you are very cute......
The debit card thing drives me insane, but I think the smallest amount I've had is $5 and I made sure to use it!

I only recognized the first lyrics and I'm over 40. I think I'm just bad at understanding what they're singing in the first place.

  8. OMG the last two lines are really freaky!! And seriously, is the thing about the meat really better than the lyrics we're hearing these days?;)

Joe I can't believe that they sent you a rebate card for not even 50 cents! That's simply crazy..
