I hate talking on the phone. I do nothing but talk on
the phone at work, and that has been my job for the past
10 years or so. I spend between 1500 and 1800 hours
on the phone every year for work alone, and let me tell
you, it is not just time spent exchanging pleasantries.
I am not a cell phone hound, and I never answer the phone
when I am at home.
Unless either someone has died, or I have won the lottery,
don't call me.

I love the smell of 2-stroke engine exhaust...the kind
of engines on many motorcycles, motorboats, minibikes...
it reminds me of fun things like camping and fishing.
Luckily, I have never used a 2-stroke lawnmower, so these
memories are not corrupted.
Diesel is ok too, if not too concentrated or dirty. It
reminds me of many carnivals and amusement parks I have
gone to when I was younger, they always used diesel engines
to power these rides.
Peace be with you.
Diesel? Really?
ReplyDeleteI hate talking on the phone too. Actually, I don't have a phone. I lost one and the other broke!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say this, but I really like the smell of diesel! It reminds me of Greyhound busses and all the romance and glamour I used to associate with them.
ReplyDeleteYou think I am kidding? Alas, no.
See, Ms A...BB likes diesel too!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your phone, Mr. Stupid, maybe you left it on the moon?
I hate talking on my cell phone only. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great day, Joe.
B :)

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more! I hate talking on the phone!
ReplyDeleteThe smell of diesel reminds me of southeast asia
I'm with you on the phone thing Joe, I can't believe how many people are walking around with a cell phone stuck to their ear, I'm not one of them.
ReplyDeleteThe two stroke engine smell I can relate to, fishing and biking are the memories there :)
I didn't hate talking on the phone, but I hate someone who didn't answer my phone call...haha..
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe for a very interesting post!!

I hear you, Joe, on the phone thing. I've never really having conversations on the phone--not seeing the person's face when he/she talks makes me go nuts. I never know if the person is kidding, or serious, or sarcastic! And besides, I can't recognize anyone on the phone. Every voice sounds the same to me ;) I only use my cell for emergencies too!
ReplyDeletei hate the phone more than you Joe! I never answer...always screen my calls and feel that when people call they want something from you. I actually feel dread when I hear ring ring ring...especially at night. some people take it as rudeness but I feel strongly that is self preservation. Oh...and like you...I love the smell of gasoline. One of my little quirks!!!
